6月27日，文物专家在对项城市区湖滨北路一建筑工地进行文物勘探时，发现一座船型墓葬。经发掘，文物专家初步认定此墓为北宋时期砖石结构墓葬，造型独特，在当地很少见。
经现场测量，该墓葬长2.1米、宽0.7米，呈南北走向，墓砖交叉结合，紧密完整。从保存较为完整的骨骼，及骨架特征，文物专家初步推断墓葬主人为一名北宋时期的女性。
