姚湾荆藩墓和黄土岭荆藩墓均发现于20 世纪70 年代，均为三合土墓葬。两座墓葬出土的金银首饰包括顶簪、花钿、各式花簪、戒指、耳环等，均为明代头面的组成部分，遗物有很多相似之处，如两座墓葬均出土了独具特色的戏曲故事图金分心和金掩鬓，题材选自明代宫廷杂剧中的常见剧目，制作工艺基本一致。
